| Conservatives Move to Bolster Economy | February 2008 |

Dear Constituent, This month I'm proud to be able to tell you that our Conservative government is doing even more to build on our country's past economic successes. Federal taxes are headed to their lowest levels since the 1960s. Since taking office, Conservatives have delivered almost $200 billion in tax relief. And we've kept our promise to cut the GST to 5% - ahead of schedule. Canada's economy has been thriving. Unemployment is lower than it's been in more than thirty years. Business investment keeps growing. Our debt levels keep falling. And Canadian household incomes keep increasing. Our Conservative government is building on this success with recently introduced Community Development Trust. $1 Billion to help struggling communities to develop and diversify their economies and create new jobs. Lastly, I just wish you and your family all the best as we patiently wait to see if the groundhogs are right this year. Best regards, - Dave |
