Cleaner Environment, Better Future
August 06, 2009
Dear Constituent, Summer is my favourite time to enjoy the natural world around us. Despite this summer's weather, the singing birds and lush greenery all remind me how precious is our environment. This month I'm writing to you about how our government is helping to preserve Canada's ecosystems for our children and grandchildren by keeping our air clean and our water clear from pollution. We're setting new rules for the use of dangerous chemicals, cofounding a new global partnership to advance carbon capture technology, and helping thousands of homeowners make their houses more eco-friendly. I've included more information about these and more initiatives below for you if you're interested. As always, if you have any questions or wish to share your thoughts, please never hesitate to get in touch with me. Global Carbon Capture & Storage Institute: Canada has cofounded the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute along with the United States, Japan, Norway, and 16 other leading nations.
