Chatham-Kent, Ontario — Dave Van Kesteren, MP for Chatham-Kent Essex, today announced that JBC Limited will receive an investment of more than $86,000.00 for the purchase of metal fabrication equipment through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). “Residents in our community will benefit from projects like this one, which encourage economic revitalization,” said MP Van Kesteren. “This investment in the manufacturing sector of Chatham-Kent will help this region once again be recognized as a key player in the global economy.” "The funding will give JBC Limited the opportunity to pursue the purchase of fabrication equipment that will improve the productivity of our manufacturing capabilities. This new equipment will then allow us to be more competitive within our business sector,” said Peter Forth, President of JBC Ltd. JBC which specializes in the engineering, design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of surface finishing for over 25 years has a wide variety of customers which include the automotive industry, home appliances and aerospace. This project will be funded through the Community Adjustment Fund, a two-year, $1-billion national program aimed at addressing the short-term economic needs of communities hit hardest by the global economic recession. The approved project must meet the terms and conditions set out in the contribution agreement. FedDev Ontario was created as part of Canada’s Economic Action Plan to support economic and community development, innovation, and economic diversification, with contributions to communities, businesses and non-profit organizations in southern Ontario.
